As the weather is finally getting colder, we all could do with some warm tastilicious drink to bring our bodies back to life. With that in mind, this month's cocktail could only be one thing, Madam Rosmerta's Butterbeer. For those of you who've never heard of this incredibly amazing drink, it happens to be Harry Potter's (and Ron Wesley's and Hermione Granger's) drink of choice on their regular visits to Hogsmeade. If you've not read the books, you should seriously get on with it, it'll keep you entertained until Spring comes back!
So after a bit of research, I found a wonderful recipe on Mugglenet that I have decided to try. Seems fairly simple and the ingredients aren't too hard to find. We will see how it turns out!
In the meantime, so you can also try this out at home, here I leave you with the ingredients:
- 1 cup (8 oz) club soda or cream soda
- 1/2 cup (4 oz) butterscotch syrup (ice cream topping)
- 1/2 tablespoon butter
and the steps:
Step 1: Mix the butterscotch and butter into a large microwave-friendly glass. Microwave on high for 1 to 1-1/2 minutes, or until syrup is bubbly and butter is completely incorporated.
Step 2: Stir and cool for 30 seconds, then slowly mix in club soda. Mixture will fizz quite a bit.
Step 3: Serve in two coffee mugs or small glasses; a perfectly warm Hogwarts treat for two!
If for some reason you don't feel like making this at home, I've heard that you can order an alcohol-free version at your nearest Starbucks if you ask for the following:
Regular Crème Frapuccino with three pumps of caramel syrup, three pumps of toffee nut syrup, and caramel drizzle on top.
How did you find it?? Do you have any other movie-inspired wintery drinks??
