A few weeks back, after a long busy day at work in Hamburg, the Mr. came to see me. After eating at a lovely Chinese restaurant we took on to walk the food off towards the harbour to see Royal Carribean's Legend of the Seas cruise ship leave for its wonderful Nordic adventure, which we missed by soooo little.
Anyhow, it was a very stormy day so eventually gave up strolling peacefully around for the comfort of a hidden gem we encountered along the way. Levantehaus.
The marvelous architecture of this place embraces you as you step into it. The round entrance invites you come in, look up, you'll be left astonished by the beauty and intricacy of the dome and the hyper-realistic stone animal gargoyles.
Once you can stop looking up and continue exploring the place, to right and left you'll find symetrical passages crowned by delicate, yet robust, wood and marble two-sided Titanic style stairs.
Stepping in, whether the shops are open or closed, transports you to a different world, one of magic and beauty.
I'd love to do a photoshoot in there sometime soon. Any takers?? E-mail me @ wanderwingsblog@gmail.com if so ;)
But I've rambled enough about the beauty of Levantehaus, what I wanted to tell you about today is a little café in this passage. In this coffee house, Die Rösterei, one can find some of the most amazing coffee, chocolate and tea related products I've ever seen in my life. From all corners of the world and all flavours, whatever you ask for, surely they can fulfill your wish.
