After a wonderful week of Vienna, butterflies, mimosas, peaceful nature and great Austrian food, feeling like royalty at the Viennese Town Hall, street markets and Doris, art, it was time to say goodbye.
We feed ourselves a hearty breakfast, packed our bags, visited the roof for a last peek and a see you soon. If you follow us on Instagram you may have seen this already.
After the goodbyes, we jumped in the car and set off on our journey back.
First stop: Fulda, a little crossroads town in the border between Hessen and Bavaria.
Almost 8 hours and 700 Km later we were in the cozy town that would host us for the night.
It may seem tiny, but what you'll find in it will leave you speechless.
Here is my top three things to do while in Fulda (Germany):
1. Visit Fulda's Fasanerie palace and gardens, with or without guided tour, and go up to the tower. The views are extraordinary.
This baroque style residence has been in Fulda for 300 years already (1714), could you even tell??
2. Take a walk to Fulda's cathedral, it's a beauty, specially at sunset. And the interior...the detail of the sculptures, the peacefulness of it all, and its famous dom, among many other things make of it a must see in anyone's itinerary.
And has a beautiful back garden with a small outdoor museum.
3. And last but not least, my favourite of them all, the Dahlia Garden behind the cathedral. You just have to see it for yourself.
And with these beautiful flowers and 400 km more in the car our Viennese adventure came to an end. I couldn't have asked for a better vacation.
But hey, there's still so much to do and see in the Austrian capital that in no time (I'm sure) we'll be back! Until then we'll have to keep ourselves busy somehow.
Do you guys have any tips?? Share them with us down below in the comments section ^^
