Hello everyone and good Monday!
Today I come eager to speak of a trend that I absolutely adore.
It is a juvenile and a somewhat also very original style, but with a classic touch. I am talking about the Sixties Style and read on cos the styling possibilities are endless!
The sixties have always made us feel like Hollywood divas, this time around is no different.
Although this trend isn't completely new (it's been quite popular for the last few seasons, at least for me), the sixties' style is already starting to take special importance in our daily wardrobes, with a new twist. See for yourself on this
Desigual sixties inspired coat:
In any case, if you don’t want to wear a total look in this kind of style, or just want to make a nod to this wonderful period, you can just simply complete your outfit with an accessory that will add this cheerful and fun touch, but with style. Like for example this
ASOS bag:
Or these sunglasses:
But whatever you do, keep it simple!
If you go for a more romantic look, soft pink and grey in coats and accessories is the way to go, and super trendy this season.
And for the fashion addicts among us, there's another amazing thing about the sixties look, your old clothes won't really go out of style with each passing season. Like this camel coat from Zara:
Everything comes back into fashion eventually!
With regards to dresses, staples in your wardrobe are the mini dresses with geometric or plaid print (which btw goes great with the
over-the- knee boots we had discussed last week). Trapezoid dresses can give much to play with and make you look like a classic Hollywood diva.
The sixties in relation to fashion is a trend always latent thanks to many brands, such as the Spanish
Kling, that keep this trend alive. Reminiscences of a not so distant past and princess dresses. Peter-pan collars are also great in these dresses, which can be combined with a medium heel or ballet pumps, and pastel colors.
Oh! And don’t forget to take a look to this space dedicated all to the sixties style at Zalando where you can find many great deals.
Other styling ideas for this retro style are for example: a Brigitte Bardot inspired look combining black and white masculine cut suits to perfection, or Audrey Hepburn and her perfect black dress from Givenchy in Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961).
Do you have any other retro styling tips? Feel free to share them in the comments section :) .
