In the past few weeks I've been bombarded by a lot of information on the Internet about European (specially German) Christmas markets.
During the past few years I've visited quite a few, whether I was living close by (Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aarhus, Copenhagen, Madrid, Bremen...) or was visiting people (Munich, Bamberg, Nürnberg...), and I loved every single one of them. Different characters but always that lovely belly-warming Christmas feel everywhere.
Since 2013 I've been living in North Germany, and one of the Christmas Markets that kept on popping up regularly happens to be around the corner, Hamburg.
So, on Saturday (Saint Nicholas, nom nom) I enlisted T. to come with me explore some of Hamburg's many Christmas Markets (as you may have seen on Instagram), with the help of ANAMEA's Hamburg U-Bahn Christmas Markets Map (A great tip from the lovely lady at BookBeauty) and this is what we saw. Enjoy!
After a wonderful day, we said our goodbyes to the beautiful Christmas trees and decorations, and headed back to Bremen for a nice warm glass of Glühwein at the Bremer Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas Market), before heading home to rest, but I'll show you that one on Thursday!
Are Christmas markets were you live as stunning as the ones here in Germany??
