Hello everyone! This week we’re going to talk about a piece of clothing really special, and necessary, for these cold days of winter: Masculine-cut coats. You will not want to go outside without them once you see how awesome it looks!
Let’s start by emphasizing that long coats are everywhere this season, even the every-day-more-popular masculine-cut, whether long or short (above or below the knee), will have its own space. You will have no excuse not to feel warm until the ankles this winter.
With large lapels, different flashy colors, or prints to dress in a modern ladylike style. Here are some from ZARA's collection.
Even though this is a post about the coat, we should not forget the importance of the print. Many designers or brands will draw their own style, but oh! tweed... you better take note of this un'! It's super cool, and gives a casual touch to these elegant coats, so that they can be worn in a great number of occasions.
The animal print, as in previous collections, continues being fashionable. Also, the classic, and always so fitting black, which suits well these coats, will also be one of the go to choices, because these will not reduce any prominence, the cut is king. These are some examples of the simple, classic cuts for this season you can find.
These coats tend to fall on the classic side of fashion, but you can also add them a flashy color like green or hot pink, or a three-quarter sleeve to give it a more sophisticated look.
As always, the fabric, print (including
sixties style), and color preferred is in your hands. From classic tones like gray, beige, white, and even black, like we've seen, to another classic but a bit more original and youthful: the camel color. Oh! and don’t forget that faux-fur is back in the game and has also invaded this field!
More modernized versions could be used in many occasions, including as everyday wear, without thinking too much about it. It may become one of those wildcard items. That faux-fur collar may be used beyond the functional, not only to forget about the cold, but also as a fashion winter touch.
Do you have a favorite style? Which one you like least? Feel free to add whatever is your suggestion, contribution and opinion in the comments section. Until next week and happy Christmas! :)
